The Boot Camp 2 Beat Cancer, Fleet Feet 2-miler, and Family Fun Walk is a fundraiser open to the entire family for cancer research! The Boot Camp includes people of all ages participating in an hour-long work out (pushups, sit-ups, jumping jacks...) led by local, college, and professional athletes. The Fleet Feet 2 Miler will include an 2 mile run or fun walk around Ravenscroft's campus. Bring friends and family of all ages. (No dogs allowed).
The events will strive to raise awareness about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for cancer prevention, raise money to develop programs to support college students and their families that are coping with cancer through the National Students of AMF Support Network, and raise money for cancer research at the Duke University Cancer Center.
Schedule:
7:00 am - Registration for 2 miler begins
8:00 am - 2 mile run/fun walk starts; Registration for Boot Camp begins
9:15 am - Boot Camp 2 Beat Cancer begins
11:00 am - Amante Pizza provides lunch for all participants and volunteers!!!
EVERYONE should attend of all ages! Bring friends and family to run, walk, or workout!
It will be held at the Ravenscroft School Football Stadium at 7409 Falls of Neuse Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615.
$25 registration the Boot Camp; $20 for the 2 mile run; $30 for both events includes:
- Boot Camp T-shirt
-Amante Pizza
- a workout with top trainers and collegiate athletes from around the state and nation.
(Price increases at event by $5)
There will also be a concession stand, a raffle, and celebrity athletes on hand.
Packet pickup available at Fleet Feet Sports in Ridgewood Shopping Center on August 13th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
You can participate with a group of friends or family as a team, often in memory of a lost loved one (ex: Anne Marie's Angels). Teams are made up of 5-15 members. Members can participate by walking only or boot camping. There will be competitions for the teams with the most participants, that raise the most money, and perform best at the event. Prizes include free meals, rounds of golf, sports tickets and much more! As a team captain, your job is to help recruit participants to join your team for the event.
